As Chief Technology Officer for ShopperTrak, Bill McCarthy leverages more than 20 years of experience to manage all aspects of ShopperTrak’s technology, including data processing, systems development, and product engineering. Mr. McCarthy also provides strategic direction for technology enhancements and product development initiatives that support ShopperTrak’s worldwide client base.
Prior to joining ShopperTrak, Mr. McCarthy spent nine years with Chicago based ShopLocal where he served as Vice President of Technology for seven years and Chief Operating Office for two years. As one of ShopLocal’s first employees, Mr. McCarthy helped lead the company from a start-up venture with 6 employees to a dominant industry leader, servicing nearly 100% of the market and serving hundreds of millions of web pages per month. At ShopLocal, Mr. McCarthy was responsible for the architecture, infrastructure and teams that developed, customized and managed mission critical advertising solutions used by leading retailers, including Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Walgreen’s, Staples and more than 100 other major retailers.
Mr. McCarthy has an electrical engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame.
