Navigating the NRF Expo Hall

It’s called the Big Show for a reason. With a crowd of more than 33,000 registrants and an enormous Expo show floor, it’s easy for NRF pros and newbies alike to feel overwhelmed. Drawing on our 19 years of NRF exhibitor experience, here are some key tips to prepare you for a successful Big Show.

Do a little homework – Browse the agenda and make a hit list of the sessions, social and networking events you’ll want to attend. Do the same with the exhibitor list. For the top exhibitors on your list, take a moment to do a bit of research and scroll through their website. This way, you’ll be prepared with specific questions when you visit their booth.

Map out your plan of attack – Review the Expo Hall floorplan and note the location of the exhibitors you plan to visit. Map out the most efficient route. This allows you to maximize your time on the showroom floor. You can find ShopperTrak on the floorplan at booth #3327.

Register in advance – New to NRF this year are the Retailer Meet-ups. These retailer-only round table sessions are designed by retailers for retailers. Sign up here to reserve your spot!

Take notes – The number of people you meet at the EXPO Hall can be overwhelming, so don’t rely on memory alone. Take notes on your conversations as soon as they are finished. If you’re in a time crunch, think of a few key words that will refresh your memory of the meeting. Having these details will make personalized follow-ups a breeze.

Make the most of social media – Join in on the buzz of the conference online. Follow the hashtag #nrf16 to hear thoughts from other attendees, and don’t be shy to post your own. Social media is a great way to connect with peers in your industry. Follow ShopperTrak’s NRF journey here.
