It’s that time of the year again: time for “Retail’s Big Show,” which is hosted annually by the National Retail Federation (NRF) in New York City. From January 11-14, more than 30,000 retailers and representatives from related industries are expected to gather at the Jacob K. Javits Convention center for a weekend full of networking, keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and the EXPO, which allows attendees to test drive technologies of the future. The Big Show is known as being a “one-stop shop” for all things retail— everyone in retail and everything that relates to the industry will make an appearance. It comes as no surprise (to anyone in retail), that technology is predicted to be the prevailing theme of this year’s conference. It’s become impossible to ignore the growing mass of data that points to further integration of technology and retail. In order to keep up, retailers must adapt. “The once sharp line between in-store retail and e-commerce is blurring as on-the-go, tech-savvy shoppers research, browse, try on, and transact wherever and whenever they please,” said John Foley in Forbes. Everyone at the big show will undoubtedly be keeping an eye out for retail technology that is increasingly relevant as the industry grows. We hope to see you in New York next week!
